Umea Punk City
Since Disconvenience gets lumped into the "this band sounds like ’77 punk" crowd, I’m going to adjust that and say that they sound like a band from 1977 that just had a gun pointed to their heads and were told to play faster, louder and better than most of their peers. 10 songs (15 if you buy the CD, their 2006 EP is tacked on) go by fast in only 23 minutes, this is a quick, frantic and amazingly catchy record. From Umea, Sweden this 3-piece has one thing that sets them apart from some of their contemporaries, singer Emma has one of the best voices in punk around. Not too high, not shrieking, she’s pretty much perfect and puts these guys even higher in my iPod rotation. Kick ass stuff all around.
